MEMENTO MORI FOR SILICON VALLEY (STEVE JOBS MEMORIAL)
Steve Jobs Remembered with Memorial iPhone Screensaver
Palo Alto, CA – A memorial screensaver of Steve Jobs for Mac users is being unveiled this week by New York artist Daniel Edwards, announces Cory Allen Contemporary Art.
The Steve Jobs memorial portrait titled “A Memento Mori for Silicon Valley” is in the style of a Victorian memento mori, and features the deceased tech guru at rest with a sprig of apple blossoms mournfully placed upon his bare chest. Screensavers of the Steve Jobs Memorial for Macintosh computers, iPhones, and iPads are being made available for free download at www.CACAnet.com.
“My research led me to think of him as someone who slept very little,” said artist Daniel Edwards about Steve Jobs. “I never found a single image of him in Google searches with his eyes closed. But I represented him as human, rather than superhuman, because I think it’s important to be inspired by his life, rather than intimidated by it,” added Edwards.
“The sleeping portrait of Steve Jobs is dedicated to the workers of the world who tirelessly build Apple products without much consideration from the people who depend on those products,” said the artist’s representative Cory Allen.
