The sculpture titled D*ck Dynasty features a likeness of Robertson’s head and shaft-formed beard positioned over two spherical shaped ducks’ heads. The Robertson bust depicts him wearing a thorny-crowned pattern on his headband, and the ducks hold a saddened expression with the Marriage Equality symbol reflected on their eyes.
“The kind of comments Phil Robertson made should be the kind of words from which everyone would want to get some distance, I’d think. It is weird and appalling that the governor of Louisiana is not ashamed to say he stands by such comments that graphically and impolitely compare orifices in regard to sexual gratification to make his point.
Robertson was quoted in GQ Magazine saying, "It seems like, to me, a vagina—as a man—would be more desirable than a man's anus. That's just me. I'm just thinking: There's more there! She's got more to offer. I mean, come on, dudes! You know what I'm saying? But hey, sin: It's not logical, my man. It's just not logical."
“Cudos to A&E for sidelining Phil Robertson - if they stick to it,” said Cory Allen of Cory Allen Contemporary Art. “This could be a defining moment for viewers challenged to decide on which side of tolerance they stand in regard to basic human rights.”
